Karubian Lab

Welcome! We link research excellence with real world environmental impact.

We work in northwest Ecuador, a ‘conservation hotspot’ where an expanding agricultural frontier exists side by side with astounding levels of biodiversity.

We combine expertise in ecology,  animal behavior and evolutionary biology with cross-disciplinary collaboration to understand complex feedback loops between human and natural systems.

The Karubian lab is a proud member of TIERA, a Tulane-based program that connects FCAT with change-makers interested in linking their learning and scholarship with real world environmental gain.

In addition to members of the Karubian lab, each year dozens of students and researchers from around the world participate in TIERA programs to travel to FCAT for field courses, research, or community projects.
